The Gondola Transit System is the first public transit system of its kind in the United States. It provides FREE public transportation between the Town of Mountain Village and the Town of Telluride. It is a 12-minute, 3-mile trip offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. During the ski season, skiers and boarders may access the ski mountain from the gondola with a lift ticket. During the summer the Gondola offers hikers and bikers free access to the spectacular scenery of the San Juan Mountains. Pets on a leash or in a cage are permitted on designated gondola cabins. Wheelchair accessible gondolas are available.

Operating Hours:
Regular hours of operation for the gondola are 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. The gondola stays open late to accommodate some festival events. Gondola closes for the off season October 23-November 16 and opens on November 17. The parking gondola will be closed from October 15-November 16. Shuttle buses will run regularly.

There are several parking lots available for guests, residents, and people working in Mountain Village and parking is enforced 7 days a week from 8am until 5pm. Varied rates apply during the shoulder seasons. Keep in mind that unauthorized parking is NOT allowed on any street or right of way in Mountain Village.

Dial-A-Ride offers FREE transportation for guests and residents in and around Mountain Village. A courtesy phone is located at main gondola station or ask a Guest Service Host to radio a shuttle for a pick-up.
